GameStop NFT Overtakes Rival Product From Coinbase In Sales Volume
Launched on July 11, the GameStop NFT marketplace is already a hit with collectors. Since the launch of the platform, the sales volume has been over 5,000 ETH (about $7.2 mln). The rival product from crypto exchange Coinbase has earned just 1,913 ETH (about $2.8 mln) since its launch on May 4, according to Dune Analytics.
The sale of 1200 ETH came from the MetaBoy project, which has been the most popular project on the GameStop market since its launch. GameStop NFT market wins more because of the brand's loyal followers than because of the technology of the market itself. In addition, comments about the market on Twitter were mostly positive, while user comments on Twitter about the Coinbase NFT platform were relatively negative.
Despite GameStop's 2.25% fee, while Coinbase continues to offer zero-fee trading to attract new users, GameStop NFT has been successful so far. However, both markets are noticeably behind the industry-leading OpenSea platform, which sold $120 mln in ETH last week.
